Jenny and Drew’s wedding took place at the beautiful Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla. Although the wedding was around the 4th of July, they stayed with a neutral palette of white with hints of green and yellow with linens provided by Concepts Party Design. They also included their super well behaved dog Sadie who got to take place in the photos taken by Kristina! After indulging in Guiseppe’s food and gelato, everyone got cozy, enjoyed the ice luge for shots, and took in (an almost personalized!) fireworks show.

Ross + Katie were married at the beautiful Ponte Estate Winery in Temecula. Originally from the east coast, they wanted to wine and dine their families and friends and show them a unique southern California winery experience. Their wedding was photographed by Weddings of Distinction member Studio Carré Photographie, and officiated by Patricia Coleman. With LOVE as their theme, each colorful detail and special moments were a highlighted and everyone danced the night away!

Small. Simple. Sweet. This vibrant wedding took place at the Grande Colonial last summer. Bride and groom, Scott and Julia from New York City, flew to sunny San Diego in order to create their perfect destination wedding. Small, because only fifty guests were cordially invited.  Simple, because the decor and detailing of the overall wedding were lovingly the right touch. Sweet, because the bright colors all tied together so perfectly, that it allowed the wedding to be unique and memorable! San Diego Weddings of Distinction members Cynthia Zatkins of CZ Events helped Julia with the planning and execution and wedding photographer Lisa, of elle.g photography, made sure they remembered every last detail with her vibrant photography.

The guests were transported to the ceremony in an Old Town Trolley where they arrived to Paul’s friends band, Science Fiction, playing their soothing jazz & contemporary music. The aisles were adorned with burlap runners, black wooden boxes of potted succulents and yellow billy balls and staggered vases of candles & dried black beans. Cocktail hour immediately followed the ceremony where a cigar bar enticed the men!

The reception was held inside the Museum in the Axline Court, where an amazing clerestory lantern lit up the ceiling with strips of light while bringing in the natural moonlight from the open spaces. The guests enjoyed a dessert bar filled with cupcakes in 4 flavors, “presidential pralines” (yes, the actual ones given during the Clinton Administration thanks to Sweet Cheeks Baker, Donna who was their pastry chef!),  See’s chocolates, coconut macaroons and of course for the bride’s family, a plethora of Italian cookies. Jason and Lyndsey were introduced while living on completely opposite sides of the country. Lyndsey in San Diego, and Jason in New Jersey. After a long-distance relationship for nine months, Jason popped the question on Coronado Island and they decided to begin their life together in San Diego after the wedding.

The rustic yet charming Rancho Bernardo Winery was chosen as the perfect location for the wedding ceremony and reception. Weddings of Distinction members, Definitive Events was selected as their full service wedding planners to bring the bride’s vintage and classic elegant vision together. With crystal chandeliers and lanterns hung throughout the trees the perfect ambiance was created. The elegant florals completed the look with the wrought iron candelabras and vintage white floral arrangements provided by Lois Mathews. Bob Brichmann, from Artistic Productions, then kept the dance floor hopping as they closed the evening with the bride and groom’s favorite selections.

Crystal and Kevin celebrated their lovely summer wedding at the Hilton San Diego in Del Mar, adjacent to the Del Mar Fairgrounds and centrally located in San Diego County. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they were married by Crystal’s grandfather and father in a very special ceremony on the outdoor ceremony venue, which was creatively decorated with beautiful purple drapery and purple flower vases. Other purple touches included the groom’s purple tie, and the purple ribbons encircling the bouquets. San Diego wedding photographer and San Diego Weddings of Distinction members, Amy and Maurice Wright of Theorie captured the couple’s wedding day celebration. Following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed cocktails on the lawn, while the bride and groom had their photos taken with their wedding party. Following their entrance to the reception the bride and danced their first dance. The bride wore a second, adorable, shorter cocktail dress to the reception that was perfect for dancing! Kevin’s SDSU hockey buddies toasted the couple and they all shared a hockey chant during the toasts. Everyone danced the night away before the couple cut their gorgeous wedding cake. Each of the bridesmaids’ bouquets and table centerpieces were decorated with a wedding inspired words like friendship, love, or cherish, inspired by Crystal’s love of words as a writer.

Matt & Elena are one of the most loving couples, which quickly endears them to anyone in their presence. Their casual, easy nature and fun style makes them a dream to work with, too! Three San Diego Weddings of Distinction vendors were lucky enough to be in their inner circle and contribute to their wedding- from design to treats and eats! Elena chose to work with Paula Rae of Rae Florae, together they decided to pull from her love of orange & green- University of Miami colors.. the place where she and Matt started their romance! Roses and rose petals in the most yummy tangerine shades combined with green hydrangea, ribbon wraps of fun striped orange and green, sliced citrus to play on their invitation design, and pops of white to make it crisp! Kristie Emmons from Continental Catering set the Darlington House with natural wood tone chairs & round tables with a clean palette of green and white- And of course prepared the delicious eats from appetizers to dinner. Finishing off the evening, Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. created an adorable cake with their orange tree wedding motif perfectly painted, and marzipan oranges that looked as real as can be! Final surprise- a groom’s cake for loving the Red Sox! Congratulations Matt & Elena!

Lisa & Brian were married on a beautiful June afternoon at Grace Lutheran Church. Following the ceremony, guests were serenaded by Weddings of Distinction member Anthony Garcia to beautiful flamenco guitar music in the historic courtyard of the Prado in Balboa Park during a lovely cocktail reception. Andrea Pena, from The Prado, helped to welcome guests into the Grand Ballroom, which was alight with lots of candles and romantic white and cream flowers on chocolate brown antiqued candelabras designed by member Lois Mathews Design. The chocolate brown linens, with gold accents, were supplied by Concepts Event Design. The bride and groom were dazzled buy the romantic atmosphere of the historic Casa del Prado and were thrilled with the whole atmosphere created by this wonderful group of Weddings of Distinction members.

Lillian and Neal’s celebrated their destination wedding in two of Del Mar’s most popular wedding spots, the beautiful Seagrove Park and the adjacent Del Mar Powerhouse Community Center. San Diego Weddings of Distinction members, Amy and Maurice Wright of Theorie, were there to the document the couple’s special day. Theorie’s artistic and modern wedding photography perfectly complimented Lillian and Neal’s contemporary style. Fellow San Diego Weddings of Distinction member, Rae Florae, was on hand to provide the floral accents; clean and classic in shades of pink and white. As well, San Diego Weddings of Distinction member Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. provided the lovely cake.

Karen and Rodger’s commitment to supporting local artists and including personal artistic elements touched nearly every aspect of their San Diego wedding. The couple commissioned San Diego Weddings of Distinction wedding photographers and artists Amy and Maurice Wright of Theorie to capture the wedding day in their well-known colorful and modern fashion. The couple also brought in local flamenco guitarist and fellow San Diego Weddings of Distinction member, Anthony Garcia, to entertain guests before the ceremony and throughout the cocktail hour. A talented musician, Garcia’s playing perfectly matched the European inspired atmosphere of the wedding location, Azul Restaurant in La Jolla. The bride and groom chose additional local and non-local artists to provide hair and makeup, custom jewelry design for their engagement and wedding rings, the bride’s wedding dress, the hand died groomsmen’s silk ties and boutonnieres, the silk flower corsages and hair accents for the bride and bridesmaids, and wedding invitations. The bride, an artist herself, created the place settings as well as the little flower petal boxes place on chairs at the ceremony. She even painted a portrait of the couple for the guests to sign at the reception. The images created by Theorie perfectly reflect the vibrant colors and artistic details of Karen and Rodger’s San Diego wedding.
